This week, I got a lot of work done on my safe project. On Monday, I made a new DXF for my safe that I could use on the water-jet for my sheet metal design. I also went to metal fab to ask them if they could bend this kind of metal, and they said they can. On Tuesday, I started making a new design for a stencil in CAD I could use to draw on the bend lines to the back of the safe. On Wednesday, I tried to use the water-jet to cut out the DXF I had, but the cut failed halfway through. It failed because midway through the cut, the piece of metal moved, and I had to cancel the cut.
On Thursday, I was able to use the water-jet, and I was able to cut out my DXF of my safe. I did this with the help of Mr. L, my shop teacher. I have already cut stuff out with the water-jet, but I keep forgetting how to use it, so I used the guide step for step and my cut was successful. After I cut it out, I cleaned off the rust, and took the a picture of the final copy. This photo can be seen as the first picture below.
