This week was only a 4 day week so I didn't get as much work done as I would have liked to. Adding on to that, is the fact that the lasercutter was a little bit broken for some of the week. Nevertheless, as always, I put in a bunch of effort each day to make the most of my time in the shop.

This week, I spent most of my time in CAD. For my arcade machine project, I finished designing the arcade machine. My next step in my process is to lasercut the arcade machine out of cardboard. To do this, I had to change the thickness parameter on the arcade machine's parameters, which kind of broke a couple things. I fixed those bugs, so now when I change the thickness parameter to, say, 3/4 or 1/2, for example, it won't break, and it will adjust the design accordingly. Next, I made dxf's of each of the projection sketches, and imported those into Inkscape. I then saved those all as pdf files which can be seen in the second picture below. I should be ready to lasercut it, which I am either going to do on Friday, or next week on Monday.

Also this week, I designed and lasercut a dog tag for my dog. I made this because in case I just lost my dog, if someone were to find him, they could see that his name is Coco and what my phone number is. I want to also lasercut a dog collar so I can attach the dog tag to it, but I don't know if we have the proper materials in the shop to do that. While I was making this, however, I ran into a few problems with how Inkscape does text and how it cuts out. I might have to redo it, so it looks better, because some of the letters are falling out of the tag thing.
